There is limited parking at the venue! But for those of you who are driving please arrive early and be prepared for a valet to park your car for you.
Be prepared to sign a waiver when you arrive at the venue. To promise you won't go swimming in the creek in the dark under the influence and sue them, etc etc...
Uber/Lyft aren't going to be super reliable near the venue and accommodations! We are in a rural area and we might have spotty reception at the venue and very few carshare drivers nearby.
Please let us know if you want to be added to a carpooling WhatsApp group for the weekend. We'd love to save guests the expense of booking a rental car. So if you'll need rides or if you're willing to share your ride with others, Email anneanddan25@gmail.com and we will connect you all.
Don't trust Google Maps directions to Dunafon Castle! The turn off to the wedding venue is a few hundred feet from where it is on Google Maps it's a frequently missed turn. Please keep an eye out for the sign if you're driving in.
We can't believe it's been 6 years together already! We are so thankful for all the great moments along the way, especially those shared with our amazing friends and family.
We met in 2019, as so many couples these days do, through the apps. Dan lured Anne in with a pirate joke, Anne lured Dan in with a cute picture of her not so friendly dog Bear. Dan obliviously suggested a first date on Valentine's Day, and Anne gently suggested the day after instead.
Our first year together was marked with real-world travel and adventure: our first weekend trip to romantic Salt Lake City, live music at Red Rocks, hikes and camping around Colorado, Dan's introduction to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta, Thanksgiving in New York, and a getaway to Hawaii mere days before Covid lockdown...
The following year(s) quarantined together were make-or-break for our relationship, settling into our first house with our growing four-legged family. Luckily, no puny coronavirus could break us, and we found fun in the little things in life: weekend hikes and camping trips, experimenting with vegan cooking, trying our best at new hobbies from biking to woodworking to urban gardening, and fostering dogs (sometimes "successfully" and other times failing in the best way possible: yay, Ullie!).
As the world opened up again, our adventures did too, most notably with two trips to Kenya, cross-country road trips to each coast in the "Chaos Caboose," and lots of wedding celebrations for friends and family. Dan and Anne both went through job transitions, Anne's cat Strudel gradually decided that she was Dan's cat, and Ullie and Riley continued to welcome/tolerate sharing their pawrents with foster and boarding pups.
Despite becoming quite the fan of true crime and mysteries in her free time, Anne was easily kidnapped and fooled by Dan's engagement coverup plan. He said that we were visiting some friends in Lakewood, but when we were 20+ miles past Lakewood in the valley of Lair o' The Bear park, it became apparent that Dan had a special question to ask. The answer was obviously yes!
After pet sitting in the mountains one too many times, we started dreaming of living farther out of town with enough space to have a "dog ranch" and beauty to spend the rest of our lives. After lots of waiting and shopping for the right place, we made the move to Kittredge, CO. Just 5 minutes from where we're getting married and 8 minutes from where we got engaged! We are ecstatic and beyond grateful to call this our forever home.
Don't feel obligated to purchase a gift, but if you feel so moved, there are a few ways to contribute:
